Did you know that this October marks the 13th annual Fair Trade Month?
This is a time dedicated to raising awareness of fair trade and promoting the purchase of socially and commercially sustainable products. At Hiptipico, we are dedicated to providing high quality fair trade products direct from Guatemala all year long.
Fair trade is a social movement that seeks to ensure companies or producers in developing countries pay a fair wage to workers and enforce fair labor practices, such as safe working conditions and the absence of child labor.
Here are a few of our October fair trade favorites. While all of the items in our online shop support women, communities and create dignified job opportunities, these 3 particular styles are our "highest impact products". Meaning the money you spend on these products will go a long way and directly impact our specific artisan partners.
1) Hiptipico Backpacks
Hiptipico Moza Fringe Backpack and all backpacks in our online boutique automatically donate 10% to our Maya Scholarship Fund helping indigenous children access high quality education.
