Casa Floor Pouf Standard - 08
Our Casa Floor Pouf is perfect for meditation, watching movies or just to add a little pop of color to your living space. Its bold textile combination comes from a traditional huipil of the village of Chichicastenango, and corte of the village Totonicapán, Guatemala. The eye-catching colors and intricate pattern of the textile body was originally created on a back-strap loom by a female weaver. This huipil was previously worn by an indigenous woman, has deep-rooted cultural significance and is in a vintage condition it also has textiles from repurposed traditional hand-woven cortes. Instead of throwing out these leftover scraps from past projects, we preserve their integrity and give them a second life!
This pouf was crafted by our artisan partner Vicente and Ofelia in a small home workshop, and the textile was sustainably sourced from our long-term artisan partner Lydia at the textile market in Panajachel. Your purchase supports our sustainable project to provide dignified job opportunities to indigenous artisans in Guatemala.
100% Cotton. Zipper Closure. Vegan leather tag.
No two poufs are the same! Hiptipico prides itself on uniqueness and authenticity. Every Hiptipico product is 100% handmade and has the human touch of the weaver and maker in each stitch. This makes our products uniquely charming and distinct from factory-made accessories. No two are exactly the same and imperfections are to be expected and appreciated.
This pouf is part of our Zero Waste Collection, which features textile treasures from indigenous villages all around Guatemala, a country world-famous for its intricate textiles and hand-embroidery. This collection is all about art appreciation and revival! When purchasing huipiles for crafting our artisanal poufs, we make it our priority to select only textiles that could no longer be worn to truly give them a second life.
