Product Details:

Our Newly Embroidered Backpack Straps are designed to attach to any convertible day bag! The unique embroidery was woven new by our female artisan partners in a weaving cooperative in the mountains outside of Chichicastenango. Using a traditional technique with intricate needlework, each strap can take 3 – 10 days to complete. By purchasing directly from female artisans, you are supporting a sustainable effort to pay above a living wage, provide steady employment and impact entire indigenous families.

The leather part of the strap was carefully crafted by our artisan partner Don Vicente and Ofelia in a small home workshop using top-grain leatherYour purchase supports our sustainable project to provide dignified job opportunities to indigenous artisans in Guatemala.

Metal hardware clip attachments.

Unique embroidery and leather combination.

Strap comes with a multi-color dust-bag and information card about the artisan your purchase supports.

Our straps pair perfectly with your favorite bag or our convertible bags!

No two straps are the same! Hiptipico prides itself on uniqueness and authenticity. Community Impact:

Our new embroidered straps are part of our Woven Collection and support female weavers that don't have access to markets! This specific collection was created so you know exactly the female weaver behind your products. Every item in this collection was hand-embroidered or hand-woven by our female artisan partners [not the market]. Purchasing authentic textiles directly from female cooperatives allows us to have a full understanding of the entire supply chain and offer truly honest production.

Ut'z Bat'z Weaving Cooperative

Origin: Chontala, Quiché
Ethnicity: Maya K'iche'

We are so impressed by the coordination of the Ut'z Bat'z weaving cooperative. Their group leader reached out to us at Hiptipico searching for a way to expand their production and to provide each woman with a more stable income. The female artisans in this group have the most intricate embroidery and fast turn-around for our embroidered belts called "fajas"! Meaning, when you purchase a camera strap from our woven collection, you can shop knowing you're helping provide a dignified job opportunity to the strong women in this cooperative!
