One-of-a-kind:

No two bags are the same! Hiptipico prides itself on uniqueness and authenticity. Every Hiptipico product is 100% handmade and has the human touch of the weaver and maker in each stitch. This makes our products uniquely charming and distinct from factory-made accessories. No two are exactly same and imperfections are to be expected and appreciated.

Community Impact:

Guatemala is one of the slowest in rolling out the vaccine and tourism has not picked back up. And with every purchase you are directly helping a few different artisan families in Guatemala that have been waiting over a year for their stores to see new customers.

Hiptipico’s relationship with these long-term partners is built on trust, transparency, and mutual respect. Purchasing items with these vendors support a small local business, motivates local entrepreneurial spirits, and stimulates the local economy.

Zoila grew up in the village of San Andres Semetabaj, just up the mountainside from Panajachel, while her husband is originally from a town about 6 hours away called Todos Santos Cuchumatán. They eventually met in Panajachel when Julian moved to the tourist town to open a traditional handicraft store with his parents. Now, Zoila and Julian together continue to run the family business in Panajachel, bringing in a unique vibe and more modern twist. The combination of years of professional experience and a trained eye make for an extremely curated shop! From convertible bags, to fringe to poms, Zoila is an expert designer and puts her indigenous roots into everything she makes.
