Welcome the new owner of Hiptipico 💜

It’s time to officially introduce you all to Amy Joy, the new owner of Hiptipico! She recently arrived in Panajachel to experience her first day in the Hiptipico office. Her first task was browsing through all of our gorgeous raw material to get some new camera straps and huipil bags into production for all of you! As you can see our artisan partners, Don Vicente Jesus and Doña Ofelia came to visit to get the ball rolling on sling bags, mini bags, floor poufs and camera straps.

A little more about Amy. Amy was born in Xela, Guatemala and moved to Canada at the age of 7. She grew up remembering the scents, colors and energy of Guatemala and was an artist at heart. She ended up studying graphic arts to fuel her passion, but spent most of her adult life working long hours in the corporate world. As a longtime Hiptipico supporter, Amy has been a part of our avid community supporting conscious consumerism, cultural preservation and women-owned businesses. She is now eager to use her photography, graphic design and project management skills to reconnect with her roots and have a deeper impact on the livelihood of indigenous artisans in Guatemala.
Let's all welcome her to the Hiptipico familia and get excited for restocks!
