Chontalá Weaving Cooperative Photojournal

Almost a year ago, we brought you the Chontalá Huipil Story after forming a special partnership with the Chontalá weaving cooperative in El Quiche, Guatemala. (If you missed it, be sure to read it first to truly appreciate the photos below- it's such an incredible story) Months later, our partnership remains strong and we are honored to be able to purchase such beautiful, hand embroidered fajas from master artisans while providing them a fair wage for their work. The Chontalá group consists of 23 women, the youngest of which is just 17 years old. We always look forward to meeting with these talented women, and are excited to share some photos below from our last visit!
