Artisan Spotlight: Santa Catarina and San Antonio Palopó

The Hiptipico HQ is located in Panajachel on Lake Atitlan, a majestic lake dotted with Maya villages. We work with two groups of women in the mountain towns outside of Panajachel - Santa Catarina Palopó and San Antonio Palopo. The garb of Santa Catarina is recognizable by the thick "liston" velvet head wrap worn by Teresa and San Antonio by the shiny tinsel thin hair wrap worn by Maria. The two women featured in this post are the leaders of their women's group and set an incredible example for their community. Please enjoy the following images of our amazing female artisan partners with our founder Alyssa.
